The city is blooming with summer vibes. Everywhere I go I see flowers, smell the scent of sunscreen and feel the smiles that all of us are wearing because of the beautiful weather. I have craved the feeling of the sun on my skin for a while so it is clearly a miracle to be able to experience it so soon in May.
On one of the first days the sun was shining bright and the degrees were rising, I decided to put together this Audrey Hepburn-inspired outfit. The culottes, hair scarf, and cat eye sunglasses give this look the perfect 1950’s feels perfect for a spring evening.
I have received plenty of compliments on these ZARA trousers. Even just wearing them for this shoot I had three girls coming up to me asking where I bought them. They are indeed very ‘out there’, and even when purchasing them I was doubting whether they would be too much. I am so glad I took the risk and decided to buy them anyway.
Culotte trousers were trending slightly last summer, though they will be even more visible this year as they are to be found in every large clothing department store at the moment. Culottes are perfect for petite women like me who always have problems finding trousers that fit length-wise. Not to mention the fact that the wide-legged cut makes the legs appear longer.
The bandana scarf, or handkerchief scarf, is another trend that is approaching for this summer. The petite scarfs were around all fashion bloggers necks throughout fashion week in February and during Coachella 2016. Tie a scarf like this around your neck paired with your favorite denim outfit for a chic Western look, or use it as a hair tie for an elegant 50’s gypsy look.
