Dull/dry skin
Green tea is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory goods that are, believe it or not, likely to slow down the development and signs of aging. Besides daily consumption, green tea can also be beneficial to use on the outside, as face masks. There are several ways you can DIY some great and easy face masks. For dull skin, cut open a used green tea bag and mix it with honey for added glow and moisture to your face. And for dry skin, mix together green tea, yogurt and banana for refreshed and rejuvenated skin.
Puffy eyes and dark circles
Many herbal teas can quickly cure the struggle of one too many hours of work or hangover dark circles. Green tea bags especially are excellent for applying on the eyelids for 15-20 minutes, which will instantly make you look more awake. Simply re-use a freshly used tea bag in order for the tea to soak into your skin. Another trick to get rid of puffy eyes and dark circles is to freeze green tea in ice cube trays and then apply those on your eyes once you feel like you need a pick-me-up.
Weight gain
We all know that bloated feeling of overeating some delicious food, just because it was so good. Or the struggle of coming home from a holiday in a carb-filled country where all you could get your hands on was white bread or pasta. If you want to get rid of those extra pounds, you might want to consider your next cleanse to be a tea cleanse. Oolong tea, for instance, is called the “pound-a-week melter” and helps boost the metabolism. Mint tea helps control those nasty cravings that we all have sometimes, and Rooibos tea helps regulate fat-storage hormones. So bottoms up!
Acne-prone skin
White tea has antioxidants which get rid of free radicals in the skin, which come from bad dieting or being in the sun for too long. White tea does wonders for acne-prone skin and can even be mixed in with your daily face cream for an efficient effect. The tea can also help prevent acne in the future, by getting rid of a build-up of toxins in the body.
Sunburns
Aloe vera is a great and natural way to rescue sunburned skin and is used in various after-sun products. Though black tea is actually said to be the most effective way to soothe sun-burned skin by bathing in it. Fill your bathtub with water and about three tea bags, and let yourself relax while the tea works its magic. This is an easy trick for when you are on holiday, spend a bit too much time in the sun and the only thing you can find near the minibar are teabags.
