Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.

This quote is my favorite at the moment, and it really got to me when I first read it. For many people, fashion is used as a tool to impress the people around them. For others, fashion is like art and seen as a way to expressing who we are and how we want to be perceived. The way we dress can even reflect the different styles or personalities that we might have because we don’t have to stick to a specific style. There are no rules, so we might as well express it while we can. Just like art, and just like writing and speaking. I recently started using LOOKBOOK.nu, and I was so impressed of how big of an inspiration outlet this is. People from all around the world expressing who they are and how they style their clothes. Fashion is truly art in a way.

Yesterday I went to eat lunch in the park with my mom and boyfriend and the dogs. We shot these photos later in our garden because I just love the combination of the skirt and the top together. The skirt is definitely a statement piece, not to mention its bubble gum color, and I have worn it any times. Though it is always a bit difficult to know what to pair it with. I think this top might be the winner.
